Falling in love with ghosts...

What did your favorite ghost tell you?  An atheist from the soul asking this like your neighbor psychic lady - crazy, I know. What is life if one has never had a ghost?! A ghost when I say it is not the remnant of your rather unwanted self after death. It is my memory. A person that I used to be, and I miss being while I loathe being it at the same time. It is far beyond my reach. Maybe those memories were kept wrapped and cushioned in a dusty-moldy corner. It might not be much that you miss. It might just be the way you talked or laughed or never bothered. It must be the way something came so easy. It might be the way life used to dance around. It might be the people who defined you. Those ghosts are worth falling in love with.  Waking up one day and realizing your life has taken on a direction you never wanted to wouldn't be the same tiring ritual if you had the wistful past in mind. It gives a sense of identity. It takes your hand and dances with you. It would swing you aro...

Whistle past did another year!!

When you actually think about it, what a hell of a year it was! 2024 was a year short of anything but excitement. From politics to economy and sports to music, this year was a racecar. One can tell nothing about this year without a remark on Mr. Donald Trump. What drama it was! America going to the polls making history with Trump coming back, Trump being shot at...it was crazy. Elon Musk spending half a billion dollars to help Trump. Musk himself making history with SpaceX using 'chopstick arms' to catch the returning booster rockets and Perseverance finding microbial life on Mars. Space prospects had never been higher. India is moving towards Gaganyaan and that is such an absolute moment of pride. But come on, who cared about anything but music by the end? Bruno Mars was back with not one but two bangers. Lady Gaga was literally and figuratively smokin' with her songs and Rose tied Jungkook...and K-pop fans bear with me if I don't share the details. It is just becaus...

The Pleasure the World has Forgotten

“Oh! I am delighted with the book! I should like to spend my whole life reading it”, this was Austen’s saying. The world has forgotten the pleasure of reading. When I curl up with a book in my hands in the library during recess at school, people look at me as a bookworm or a nerd. With the advent of the internet, people have lost all sense of what a book can give. It gives a sense of belonging. My school is located on top of a hill. The library is located on the slope, not more than 200 meters from the main block. The distance is not along a straight path but winding staircase. The winding paths are all created with such care that they have beautiful vines hanging on the sides of the rails. The path is strewn with jasmine. One could easily get overwhelmed with the perfume. The door to the library is made in a rather old fashion to ring a vintage touch. The bougainvillea which grow all around have a soothing lavender hue. Beyond the door, inside the library, great stacks of books ...

And There Around the Corner Vanishes Yet Another Year

It is always refreshing to come back to Blogger and update the arrival of a new year...But, it always keeps me hinged on the fact that it is only on December 31st that I distinctly remember to put a blog...well...that is me...maybe, that is every one of us...The excitement we have when we make our list of New Year's resolutions never quite stays to see the fruit it gives. I prefer retrospection of the gone year than prediction of the one that's yet to come...If you ask me about the one gone, I might have tons to say. But what does the world have to say? The interesting part is of course our ever-gnawing curiosity...The driving factor in me is this thing (curiosity) which makes us human. I don't appreciate people pocking their noses into my business, nor does anyone. But the world is sure welcoming, ain't it? We talk about nature and yet never care about what nature might think of us when we talk about it. Well, it's because nature is not living. It's because we ...

Artificial Intelligence - A BOON or a BANE?

Do you remember the – “CAPTCHA”?? Certainly, my question will seem absurd to most. But why was Captcha introduced in the first place? It was to recognize a robot from a human…Have you noticed that the average presence of Captcha is reducing these days? It is not because Captcha is absent. It is only because our old means are not applicable anymore. We are living in a world where only recently an AI platform (ChatGPT) tricked a human into opening the Captcha of a website. Today, AI’s presence in the network is recognized by a process called the average click rate. It is based on the pattern recognition of the number of clicks a person makes per minute. Our discussion is not about Pattern recognition or the disappearance of the nostalgic (for its crazy pictures) Captcha. It is on the development of Artificial Intelligence itself. AI is an application of a pathway called the Artificial Neural Network (ANN). It is a pattern which runs based on the functioning of our very ...

The World As It Is...

The world...why is it even called so...??? Filled with people, plants, and many other species, ideas, propagandas, inventions, and then innovations. As I was saying, there are a million Hogwarts in our world. There is good, there is evil and there are people who beat around the bush and relieve themselves even the choice between these two fundamental ideas which treaded this sphere or geoid (Geographically) since time immemorial. Changes had overtaken us. We delved into matters beyond comprehension a couple of trillion times. Our touch had glorified and destroyed simultaneously this very place that we call our abode. From as tiny as the quantum particles to as gigantic as the Supernova, our interests varied. Caste, color, gender, and creed. We were diverse and still are. Were we afraid of these differences? We caused feudalism and A[artheid against our own fellow tribes. We destroyed our planet and caused an unprecedented crisis, a mass extinction (a genocide or the biggest ever ...

What a YEAR!!!

When I write this, I just don't know how much I went through this year...2022 is just unforgettable for me...there was joy, excitement, sorrow, parting and any emotion you could think of...This was an entirely new academic year in school physically after almost three years...It made me so exuberant that I could not just think of anything other than my friends and school for at l east 6 months...I lost myself in the glory of this year...So was every emotion...everything which is past is clinging to the neck of my heart. What a year it was... NASA even gave out a historic test flight of Artemis 1 around the moon...Artemis mission is so important for everyone on the planet...It will be the first mission to land a woman and a man of color on the surface of the moon. Konstantin Tsiolkovsky once famously said, "Either we are alone in this universe or we are not, ...
